Rumors have surfaced this week about Nathan Fillion being cast in the leading role of Nathan Drake the “Uncharted” movie however we’re unable to confirm at this point in time if these rumors are true.
There has been much petitioning for Nathan Fillion in the role with many fans believing he has both the perfect appearance and personality but there have also been mentions of several different people being cast in the role (the most recent being Gerrard Butler) in that time so we’re taking this news with a grain of salt until we hear something official.
The rumor appears to have started on gamingsquid.com
In July last year Fillion spoke to Screenrant.com about the possibility of working on the movie.
“I am certainly still interested in playing Nathan Drake. I think every actor I know wants their action-adventure hero, their Indiana Jones. That would be a good one for me, I think. What I don’t want is people pressuring that poor man [director Neil Burger] and souring him on the actual idea. If we could somehow just… do you remember the movie Inception? I think that’s what we need to do. We need to let him land on the idea on his own.”
Fillion’s reaction comes after fans took things too far and literally harassed people involved with the film.
Nathan Fillion makes a guest appearance as a news reader in episode 3 of the new comedy web series “Husbands”, created by Firefly writer Jane Espensen.
About Husbands
Waking up married after a drunken Vegas weekend used to be an adventure reserved for one man and one woman. But thanks to a new law, athlete Brady Kelly and actor Cheeks find themselves unexpectedly and legally wed. Unwilling to undermine the hard-fought battle with a public quicky divorce, these two decide to make a go of it. They were doing okay when they were dating. But how will it work out, now that they are HUSBANDS?
Nathan Fillion makes a guest appearance in the latest episode of The Guild.
The Guild is a web series created by Felicia Day (Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) who originally created, produced and starred in the series which follows the adventures of a group of online gamer friends. The hugely popular series is one of the pioneers in web series’ and Felicia Day’s work was one of Joss Whedon’s inspirations Emmy winning web series Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. In the past The Guild has had a number of guest stars including gamer/actor/social media phenomenon Wil Wheaton.
Season 5 of The Guild is set at a gaming convention and Episode 6 is titled “Revolving Doors”.
“Clara befriends some steampunkers (guest stars Doug Jones and Maurissa Tancharoen) while the rest of the guild explores the convention. Meanwhile Vork manages Bladezz career as an internet celebrity and crosses paths with a big star seeking advice (special guest Nathan Fillion).”
You can watch the episode on Xbox Live or Zune right now and it will be available on to watch free on MSN or Bing on September 1st.
GEEK GOD NATHAN FILLION: From Cult Hero to TV Star; Nathan Fillion on Firefly, Castle, Dr. Horrible and All Those Rabid Fans
NEW YORK – From the Firefly fans to the mainstream Castle crowd, everybody loves Nathan Fillion. This week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly looks at the fascination behind the ultimate ‘Geek God.’
Fillion is more polite than most—with fans, costars, journalists—because he occupies a special place in Hollywood. It started back in 2002, when, thanks to a few key roles from the mind of Joss Whedon—Capt. Mal Reynolds in Firefly and its big-screen adaptation, Serenity; an evil preacher in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; and a vain superhero in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog—Fillion began receiving A-list treatment from sci-fi fans, even if he wasn’t quite an A-lister himself. And he was more than happy to play to that audience. “I think of Galaxy Quest and the plight of those pigeonholed actors who don’t do anything except for conventions,” he says. “To be pigeonholed as a Malcolm Reynolds? Uh, dream. Winning.” (more…)
